Mario Suarez has described Quique Sanchez Flores as an amazing trainer, said he is excited to play for Watford in the Premier League and that effort is not negotiable.
Speaking to Hornets Player after signing a four-and-a-half year deal, Suarez said:
“I am very happy to join Watford, have been happy from the first minute I know the interest from Watford, I am very happy to be here, is a dream come true to play in the Premier League. I am very excited with the project of the club, to be trained another time by Quique. I am very excited to know all my teammates and start training with them to know everybody in the club and start playing for Watford.
“I wanted to play here in the Premier League as soon as I hear of the interest of Watford. Quique and Gino [made me want to come to the Premier League] as soon as I start talking with them. For me and many other players it is the best league in the world, the most competitive. Watford is a good team, I have watched a lot of Watford games in the last month and everybody can see they are doing an amazing job and I want to help the team, and help to win our objectives.
“Quique is an amazing trainer, in Getafe, Valencia, Atletico Madrid and here, everybody can see what he is doing here. It is important for me that he knows me and I know him. I know I have to work , have to give my best to play. I know Watford is doing an amazing season, I am really excited to know my teammates, and start to work for him [Quique], for the Watford fans and for the club.
“I think you can see the ambitions, they have come up from the next division in to the Premier League they are in tenth position, everyone can see they are working hard the players are fighting from the first minute to the last minute, no player is more important than the team. I really love this, I think it is really important to see the goals of the team. I want to really enjoy this, I talk with Quique he told me things about the club, the organisation, and I made it very clear I want to play for Watford and I am here.
“I have played for a lot of years and played for some good teams but I want to start working with the team and the coach and then I can show the fans and the club what I can do. And what I can give for the team.
“I will do what the coach wants me to do, I want to play in the team and no player is bigger than the team here, which is very important. I will give my best, I will work every day. Some days are very good, some can be not so good, but the effort is not negotiable, and I will give my all for Watford and the fans. I prefer to work and to play than to talk.”
