Swansea City once tried to sign Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo, revealed their coach Alan Curtis on the eve of the Premier League game at the Liberty Stadium.
“There was interest from us in Troy a couple of years ago and there was a link with Ighalo and you have to say they have been sensational,” said Curtis at his pre-match press conference.
“Deeney has been there [at Watford] a while and we know a lot about him. But the two together are a real, real threat. They had their first win together in the Premier League against us. We’ve set a few teams off on good runs this season, unfortunately, and we know a big key to us getting something out of the game will be how we control and contain them. They bullied us up there, we are struggling at the moment and that cannot happen again. We could not control them and they created a host of chances.”
