A spokesman for Isaac Success has muddied the waters surrounding his move to Vicarage Road this summer, but still believes Watford is his likely destination.
Watford tied up a move for the Nigerian in February, as we exclusively revealed, but the sale of Granada and doubts over whether the La Liga club or Udinese own his registration has created an unnecessary seed of doubt.
“Udinese is the owner of Success, he is on loan at Granada,” said Dominic Egbukwu, speaking to Allnigeriasoccer.com on behalf of Success’s intermediary Oliver Noah. “The Italian club will have to decide where the player will go next season, no one else. We are still talking about his transfer to Watford and not to any other club. He is either going to Watford or remaining at Granada.”
The sale of Granada, by Gino Pozzo to a consortium from China, means neither Success or Adalberto Penaranda will be at the Spanish club next season. Providing a work permit can be secured – the case of Penaranda is complex – Watford want them as part of their 2016-17 Premier League squad.
“Success has renewed his contract with Granada but there is a possibility that he will leave in the summer,” Egbukwu said. “If Ighalo moves, more money will come to Watford and they can pay Success the wages he is demanding.”
