Watford fans will get their first glimpse of new signings Isaac Success and Jerome Sinclair when the Hornets kick off their pre-season campaign at Woking this afternoon.
Sinclair, signed from Liverpool, and club-record buy Success, recruited from Granada for £12.5m, are set to feature at The Laithwaite Community Stadium against a Woking side who finished 12th in the National League, the same division as Boreham Wood.
“I can’t wait, for me it’s important to get as many games under my belt as I can before the season starts, so I can’t wait for Sunday and I hope it goes well,” Sinclair told the club website.“All the boys are excited to be back for another season, the atmosphere is great and hopefully we all get through this pre-season and we can look forward to the new season.”
New boss Walter Mazzarri, whose last game in charge was for Inter against Verona in 2014, will be without his Euro 2016 players (Christian Kabasele, Craig Cathcart, Sebastian Prodl, Valon Behrami, Costel Pantilimon and Daniel Pudil) and it will therefore be interesting to see who he plays in his favoured three-man defence. Allan Nyom, Miguel Britos and Tommie Hoban make up one likely trio. Jose Holebas, who only returned to training on Friday, could play on the left of the three, while Charlie Rowan, the no-nonsense first year pro, is another option.
