Allan Nyom’s future at Vicarage Road has been plunged into grave doubt after he was left out of a Watford squad for the first since since he signed from Granada.
Nyom was on the bench for the first two league games of the season, against Southampton and Chelsea, and performed poorly against Gillingham on Tuesday, needlessly conceding a second-half penalty. His place in the squad has gone to new signing Younes Kaboul while summer signing Christian Kabasele is also in a league matchday squad for the first time.
Nyom was a revelation this time last season but his form has nosedived alarming and Juan Carlos Paredes, Ikechi Anya and even Almen Abdi were preferred to him at right-back at the back end of the season. He signed a new contract earlier this month but so did Matej Vydra and Gabriele Angella last summer yet they were sent on loan to Reading and Queens Park Rangers respectively.
Ikechi Anya has also not made the cut for the game against Arsenal but he is home-grown and versatile so he is in no danger of not making the 25-man squad.
