Matej Vydra is on the cusp of leaving Watford permanently after posting an emotional goodbye on social media.
As we exclusively reported last night, Vydra has been left out of the matchday squad with Arsenal for tactical reasons – and not because a bid from Derby County has been lodged. The decision has clearly made up Vydra’s mind that his career is best served by moving elsewhere in a bid to kickstart his career.
The writing was on the wall on Tuesday night after Vydra waved extendedly to the fans after surprisingly being substituted after an hour and then, unusually, embarking on a lap of appreciation, together with Troy Deeney, after the match had ended. There are reports he is having a medical at Derby and wants to get the move sealed before he joins up with the Czech Republic squad tomorrow.
