Mazzarri ‘curious’ to see how Watford go against Chelsea

Walter Mazzarri says his Watford team only played well for 20 minutes at Southampton and says there is much more to come from this side, starting at home to Chelsea this afternoon.

“I saw 20 minutes of how I really want the team to play,” he said. “Our objective is that this 20 becomes 70 and  then 90. I am curious to see how the team will play after another week of training. I hope the players will follow me, as others have followed me in the past.

“We have already done better than I thought. It is not easy for the players as there have been a lot of changes, from manager to the formation. In the first half against Southampton, we played a good 20 minutes. This is the proof it can work. I am curious to see how my players cope against a great team.”

Mazzarri has experienced Vicarage Road already, in the friendly against Lorient, but only one stand was open that day. This afternoon Vicarage Road will be packed to the rafters for the visit of Chelsea.

“I am very curious to see how it will be, the atmosphere, the environment at our home,” he said. “This makes me want to push more.”
