Craig Cathcart has been ruled out of tomorrow’s game with Bournemouth while Miguel Britos is also struggling.
Cathcart came off at half-time against Burnley with a groin complaint and it was decided pretty quickly he would not be fit enough to face the Cherries. In a bizarre move, we understand he has been sent to Udinese for further treatment. Cathcart is not the first player to be sent abroad for treatment; Stefano Okaka headed to Barcelona to see Dr Cugat after tearing his hamstring against West Ham United.
In another potential blow to Walter Mazzarri’s plans, Britos is also highly doubtful with a groin problem and faces a race against time to make tomorrow’s game. The certain absence of Cathcart means Younes Kaboul, who has had hamstring trouble himself, is certain to start against Bournemouth while Christian Kabasele could be in line for his first call-up to the squad since the defeat to Arsenal.
Jerome Sinclair is still out injured after injuring his left hamstring in training.
