Isaac Success has added to Watford’s growing casualty list after withdrawing from Nigeria’s squad through injury.
Success was due to join up with the Super Eagles party for the first time after being named in the squad by Gernot Rohr for the World Cup qualifier against Zambia, but the 20-year-old has had to pull out because of a problem with his left leg. According to Nigeria Football Federation spokesman Ademola Olajire, the forward “has a knock and finding it difficult to walk”.
Success has therefore stayed behind with Watford’s non-international players at London Colney and has been receiving treatment from the likes of Oli Leaper, the physio recruited from Birmingham, and therapist Giorgio Gasparini, using a Game Ready, a cold therapy compression system, to aid the recovery process.
The reconfigured medical department are certainly a busy bunch. The following players are all out of action:
Adrian Mariappa (sickness)
Stefano Okaka (hamstring)
Jerome Sinclair (hamstring)
Daryl Janmatt (shoulder)
Miguel Britos (groin)
Craig Cathcart (hip).
