Walter Mazzarri is the right man to coax the best out of Odion Ighalo who should be given a shot alongside Stefano Okaka, according to his agent.
Ighalo is going through the leanest spell of his Watford career and perhaps even his entire career, scoring just twice in his last 25 league appearances. You have to go back to the game with West Ham, on September 10th, for his last league goal and he’s only found the net twice in in the Premier League since the win over Newcastle on January 23.
He’s been on the bench for the last two matches and was left unused against Leicester as Mazzarri opted to bring on Okaka ahead of him.
“I am convinced that Mazzarri is the right coach for him,” said Patrick Bastianelli, one of Ighalo’s representatives. “He went through rough times [because of his father’s death] but he is now determined and motivated. He scored 16 goals last season and he can even do better. I would like to see him partner Okaka too sometimes, Watford really do have great strikers since they also have Deeney and Isaac Success.”
