Watford can bring Steven Berghuis back from Feyenoord next month

Watford have the option to recall Steven Berghuis from his loan spell at Feyenoord.

Berghuis has scored three goals in his last two games for his adopted club and could be brought back to Vicarage Road to help ease the injury crisis, particularly in the wake of the season-ending injury to playmaker Roberto Pereyra and given the absence of left-footed players in the squad. Watford are loath to spend big money in January – preferring to wait until the summer – and Berghuis, 25, would obviously not cost them a penny and would not need a settling in period.


“I will ask for sure,” said Mazzarri when asked about the possibility of bringing back the winger. “I am happy he is going very well, even though it is a different tournament. “I will speak with Filippo, Scott and Gino and see all the options we have for January.”
