Watford are monitoring one of the most promising midfielders in the second tier of Italian football, according to reports.
The Hornets’ Italian scouting operation have apparently been keeping tabs on Ascoli midfielder Riccardo Orsolini and recently sent a delegation to watch the 19-year-old in action, according to calciomercato.com. Watford’s technical director Filippo Giraldi is certain to know all about the player who is contracted to his club until 2019.
Watford are in the hunt for players of that age bracket having snapped up teenagers Aly Malle, Pervis Estupinan and Uche Agbo and sent them on loan to Granada.
Orsolini has also been linked to Juventus and AC Milan.
“Orsolini we like,” Milan CEO Adriano Galliani said. “He is a good player, a left-footer who plays on the right and he could be a good alternative to Suso. “He still has a long way to go, but the Berlusconi-Galliani agreement is to focus on young Italian players.”
